About Me
Rhoda Nakungu is a committed human rights advocate with a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University, Uganda, a Diploma in Legal Practice from Uganda’s Law Development Centre, and a Master’s degree in International Human Rights Law from the University of Bradford, UK. With over five years of experience in human rights, Rhoda combines strong legal expertise with a passion for youth empowerment and social inclusion.
Experience
Rhoda Nakungu is a committed human rights advocate with a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University, Uganda, a Diploma in Legal Practice from Uganda’s Law Development Centre, and a Master’s degree in International Human Rights Law from the University of Bradford, UK. With over five years of experience in human rights, Rhoda combines strong legal expertise with a passion for youth empowerment and social inclusion.
In 2022, she was honored with the Erasmus+ scholarship to contribute as a Program Assistant for the Vienna Masters of Applied Arts in Human Rights and completed a prestigious six-month internship at the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva, Switzerland. Currently, Rhoda leads the legal department at Tunaweza Foundation Uganda, where she champions the rights and inclusive living of persons with disabilities.
An alumnus of the Mandela Washington Fellowship (2019) and a recipient of the UK Government’s Chevening Scholarship (2020 – 2021), Rhoda actively serves as the Deputy Secretary of the Chevening Alumni Association Uganda. She is dedicated to leveraging her legal knowledge and leadership experience to empower vulnerable youth and communities across Africa.
